🔋 Electric Cars Are Becoming More Popular

In July 2025, many people in India bought electric cars. About 15,300 electric cars were sold in just one month.

This is 91% more than July last year. It also went up by 10% compared to June 2025. This shows that more people are now choosing electric vehicles (EVs).

🥇 Tata Motors – Number 1 in Sales

Tata Motors sold the most electric cars in July. It sold 5,972 EVs. This gave Tata about 40% of the total EV sales.

One reason for Tata’s success is the launch of the Tata Harrier EV, which many people liked.

🥈 MG Motor – Second Place

MG Motor was close behind Tata. It sold 5,013 electric cars, which is 33% of the market.

MG’s popular cars include the Windsor EV. MG also launched two new models – the MG M9 and the Cyberster, a stylish sports EV.

🥉 Mahindra – Big Growth

Mahindra sold 2,789 electric cars in July.

This is a 435% increase from July last year. The main reason is the launch of Mahindra’s new electric SUVs.

However, sales dropped a little compared to June (down 13%). Still, Mahindra has done well so far this year.

🚙 Other Brands and Their Sales

🔹 Hyundai

Hyundai sold 602 EVs in July. This is 11% more than in June. Hyundai is growing slowly but steadily.

🔹 BYD

BYD sold 453 EVs. It dropped a little from June but is still 27% higher than July last year.

🔹 BMW and Mercedes-Benz

  • BMW sold 225 cars, the same as June, but 3 times more than last year.
  • Mercedes-Benz sold 85 cars, a little less than June, but better than last year.

🔹 Citroën

Citroën sold only 41 EVs. This is a big drop compared to both June and last year.

📆 EV Sales from April to July 2025

From April to July 2025, a total of 55,816 electric cars were sold in India.

Tata and MG are in a tight race for the top spot. Mahindra is also doing well and may rise higher with new cars like the XUV400, XEV 9e, and BE6.

Electric Cars Are the Future

More people are buying electric cars because they are clean, quiet, and cheaper to run. Companies like Tata, MG, Mahindra, Hyundai, and BYD are working hard to give more choices to buyers.
