🚗 New SUV Coming in September
Maruti Suzuki will launch a new SUV called the Escudo in India on September 3, 2025. It will be a five-seater car and will be placed below the Grand Vitara in Maruti’s list of cars.
This new SUV will have many modern features and will be priced to attract more buyers.
🏬 Sold in Arena Showrooms
The Escudo will be sold through Maruti Suzuki Arena showrooms (not Nexa showrooms like the Grand Vitara).
Because it is sold through Arena, it will likely be cheaper and aimed at the mass market. Early reports say it could be a little longer than the Grand Vitara.
🔧 Engines and Gearbox
The Escudo will use the same engines as the Grand Vitara:
- 1.5L mild-hybrid petrol engine
- 1.5L strong-hybrid petrol engine
- A CNG version may also come later
It will have manual and automatic gearbox options. The price is expected to be between ₹11 lakh and ₹16 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Escudo will compete with:

🎨 Design and Space
Spy photos show that the Escudo’s look will be a mix of the e Vitara and Grand Vitara.
It will have a spacious cabin with a big boot for luggage, making it good for families and long trips.
