Mahindra XUV 3XO Gets Dolby Atmos – Segment-First, Global-First Under Rs 12 Lakh

Mahindra & Mahindra has yet again raised the bar for in-cabin technology by introducing Dolby Atmos in the XUV 3XO REVX A, making it the first SUV in the world under ₹12 lakh (ex-showroom) to offer this premium audio feature.

Originally developed to deliver immersive sound in theatres, Dolby Atmos is now a benchmark in high-end in-car audio, offering a rich, three-dimensional listening experience far superior to conventional systems.

Expanding to More XUV 3XO Variants

While the REVX A variant has been the torchbearer, Mahindra has confirmed that three more variants—AX5L, AX7, and AX7L—will also get Dolby Atmos from mid-September 2025.

Key details:

  • REVX A, AX5L, AX7, AX7L → All four will be equipped with Dolby Atmos.
  • Six-speaker layout tuned specially for the XUV 3XO’s cabin architecture.
  • AX7L variant → adds a subwoofer for deeper bass and a more refined surround-sound experience.
  • Integrated with Gaana streaming app → giving buyers direct access to Dolby Atmos Music on the go.

This makes the XUV 3XO the fourth Mahindra SUV after the BE 6, XEV 9e, and Thar Roxx to receive Dolby Atmos.

Democratizing Premium Audio for the Mass Market

Speaking on this milestone, R Velusamy, President – Automotive Business (Designate), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said:

“At Mahindra, we are driven by the vision of democratizing advanced innovations to make them accessible to a wider range of customers. With the XUV 3XO, we are proud to set a significant milestone by introducing Dolby Atmos starting with the sub ₹12 Lakh SUV – XUV 3XO REVX A—a global first that redefines in-cabin audio with immersive sound for a larger group of general consumers, transforming every journey. By bringing premium features like Dolby Atmos to the XUV 3XO, we aim to connect with the evolving aspirations of today’s SUV buyers.”

This strategy underlines Mahindra’s bold approach: offering features once limited to luxury SUVs in affordable, mass-market cars.

XUV 3XO: A Strong Value Proposition

Launched in July 2025 at a starting price of ₹8.94 lakh (ex-showroom), the REZX series (M, M(O), and A trims) positioned the SUV as a feature-rich compact SUV that blends affordability with innovation.

Highlight Features Include:

  • Panoramic sunroof (segment-first at this price point)
  • 16-inch black alloy wheels
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Cruise control
  • Wireless charging
  • Passive keyless entry & push-button start
  • Rear-view camera for convenience and safety

With Dolby Atmos added to the list, the XUV 3XO cements itself as one of the most tech-laden SUVs in the sub-₹12 lakh bracket.

The Road Ahead: Electrification

Mahindra is preparing to further expand the 3XO’s appeal with the launch of an all-electric XUV 3XO EV, set to be positioned below the XUV400 as its entry-level EV.

What We Know About the XUV 3XO EV:

  • Battery Pack: ~35 kWh
  • Expected Range: 350+ km per charge
  • Direct Rival: Tata Nexon EV
  • Launch Timeline: Likely early 2026

This will give the XUV 3XO range a dual advantage—class-leading features in the ICE version and a strong EV in the entry-level SUV electric segment.

Conclusion: Setting New Benchmarks

The introduction of Dolby Atmos in the XUV 3XO REVX A has not just set a new benchmark in the under-₹12 lakh segment, but also globally. By expanding the feature to higher trims and combining it with connected car tech and premium offerings, Mahindra has redefined value in compact SUVs.

And with an EV version already in the pipeline, the XUV 3XO is well on its way to becoming not just a best-seller, but a segment trendsetter for sound, style, and sustainability.

    • Sonet → stylish appeal with plush interiors.

👉 In short, if sound experience and premium features matter most, XUV 3XO clearly stands out in this price band.
