Mahindra & Mahindra is very close to beating Maruti Suzuki in the SUV (Utility Vehicle) market in India. Between April and July 2025, Mahindra sold 2,01,938 SUVs, which is 21.7% more than last year.
In the same time, Maruti Suzuki sold 2,14,641 SUVs, but their sales went down by 6% compared to last year. The difference between them is now only 12,700 units. Last year, the gap was more than 53,000 units.
In July 2025 alone, the gap became even smaller — just 2,900 units, the closest in almost 10 years.
Popular SUVs Helping Mahindra Grow
Mahindra’s strong sales come from a wide range of popular SUVs like:

- XUV700 & XUV 3XO – Modern SUVs with premium features
- XEV 9e & BE6 – New electric SUVs with high demand
Some of these new electric models already have a long waiting period because of high bookings.
