Kia Carens Clavis EV Launching Tomorrow in India – All Details
Kia will launch the new Carens Clavis EV in India tomorrow. After sharing pictures online, Kia is now ready to tell us the price. Bookings will also start soon.
This new electric car is based on the Carens Clavis petrol model but has special changes for the EV version.
Design and Looks
In the front, the Clavis EV has:
- A light bar across the front
- LED headlamps with three small lights inside
- A charging port at the front
- New fog lights
- New dual-tone alloy wheels
Inside and Features
Inside, it has:
- A two-spoke steering wheel
- Two big screens (one for speed and one for music and maps)
- A higher middle section (center tunnel)
- AC vents on the roof for back seats
- Colorful inside lights (ambient lights)
- Wireless phone charging
- V2L feature, so you can charge small devices using the car
It will come with 7 seats as standard. There might also be a 6-seat option later.
Battery and Range
- The Clavis EV will have two battery options (details not fully shared yet).
- It is expected to use batteries similar to the Hyundai Creta EV (42 kWh and 51.4 kWh).
- It can go up to 490 km on one full charge (as per tests).
- It will also have i-Pedal tech, so you can drive using only one pedal.
Price and Competition
- Expected price: starts around ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom).
- It will be India’s first mid-size electric MPV.
- Right now, it has no direct rivals in this segment.
Future Kia EV Plans
After this, Kia will bring another electric car called Syros EV in 2026. This will be a smaller, cheaper electric SUV. It will compete with cars like Tata Punch EV and sit below Kia Seltos.
