Hyundai is getting ready to launch a new electric SUV called the Elexio. This car will first go on sale in China around July–September 2025. The starting price is expected to be around 140,000 yuan, which is about ₹16.88 lakh in India.

Hyundai wants to grow fast in China’s electric car market. It has partnered with Chinese carmaker BAIC through a company called Beijing Hyundai. Together, they are investing $1.1 billion to make many new electric cars and compete with brands like BYD, Tesla, NIO, and XPeng.

The Hyundai Elexio will be built on Hyundai’s new E-GMP platform, which allows fast charging and better performance.
It will come in two versions:

It will use a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, made by FinDreams, a part of BYD.

Right now, the Elexio will only be sold in China. But Hyundai may sell it in other countries later. It may not launch in India soon, but Hyundai plans to launch 26 new cars in India by 2030, including electric ones.
