5 Upcoming Mahindra SUVs Spied Testing – Launch Expected Soon

Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up for an aggressive launch spree with multiple SUVs lined up for release over the next 6 to 12 months. The company is focused on expanding its SUV portfolio through fresh models, mid-cycle facelifts, and electrified variants—both in the internal combustion engine (ICE) segment and the electric vehicle (EV) space. Several of these models have already been spotted extensively during testing on Indian roads, offering eager buyers an early look at what Mahindra will bring next.

Here’s an in-depth look at the five upcoming Mahindra SUVs that are in advanced testing stages and expected to hit showrooms soon:

1. 3-Door Mahindra Thar Facelift

The iconic Mahindra Thar, known for its rugged lifestyle appeal and off-road capabilities, is getting a significant facelift, particularly for its 3-door variant. The updated model has been heavily camouflaged but caught multiple times on test drives with refreshed styling cues.

What to Expect?

  • Exterior: The design draws inspiration from the larger 5-door Thar Roxx, featuring revised front and rear bumpers, updated grille with horizontal slats, and refreshed LED projector headlamps. New 5-spoke alloy wheels and updated LED tail lamps complete the look.
  • Interior: Inside, the cabin sees upgrades aimed at amplifying its premium feel, including a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a possible 10.25-inch digital driver display, and improved upholstery options. Auto climate control and an upgraded premium sound system also appear likely.
  • Safety & Features: Six airbags standard, 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start and hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a sturdy roll cage, ensuring robust safety.
  • Powertrain: The facelifted Thar is expected to retain the familiar engine lineup—2.0L turbo petrol, 1.5L diesel, and 2.2L mHawk diesel—paired with 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions.
  • Launch: Expected towards the end of 2025 with pricing likely between ₹12 lakh and ₹18 lakh (ex-showroom) maintaining competitiveness against rivals like Maruti Jimny and Force Gurkha.

2. Mahindra XUV 700 Facelift

The highly successful Mahindra XUV700 is slated for a mid-cycle refresh scheduled for early 2026. This popular SUV has won acclaim for its aggressive styling and feature-packed cabin, and the facelift will further refine its appeal.

Key Updates:

  • Exterior: Refreshed front and rear bumper design, updated lighting clusters with sharper LED signature, new wheel designs, and a few new paint options.
  • Interior: A revamped dashboard promising a three-screen digital layout for a tech-forward experience, new upholstery materials, and updated color schemes.
  • Performance: The existing potent 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L diesel powertrains are expected to continue with minor tuning.
  • Additional Features: Despite cosmetic updates, signature elements like flush door handles will remain unchanged, emphasizing continuity with innovation.

3. Mahindra XEV 7e (Electric XUV700)

Continuing Mahindra’s electric SUV push, the XEV 7e heralds the battery-electric version of the XUV700. Already spotted testing under heavy camo gear, this SUV maintains the robust stance of its ICE sibling while adding distinct electric vehicle elements.

Highlights:

  • Design: Subtle EV-specific touches like sealed grille, unique LED light signatures, and aerodynamic adjustments differentiate the XEV 7e.
  • Range: Though exact figures are yet to be announced, expect a competitive range suited for urban and highway driving.
  • Features: It shares many interior tech features with the traditional XUV700 but may add EV-specific displays and controls.
  • Launch Outlook: Mahindra aims to launch this model by 2026 as part of its expanding electric vehicle lineup.

4. Mahindra XUV 3XO Electric

Positioned below the flagship XUV400, the upcoming XUV 3XO Electric will represent the brand’s entry-level zero-emission SUV offering.

What We Know:

  • Platform: Built closely on the design and platform cues of its ICE variant, the EV version features subtle modifications to accentuate its electric identity.
  • Range: Estimated to deliver around a 450 km driving range on a single charge, giving it substantial appeal for electric SUV buyers looking at affordability and practicality.
  • Positioning: It will serve as the doorstep to Mahindra’s EV universe, perfect for urban commuters and small families seeking an eco-friendly vehicle.
  • Expected Launch: Likely in early 2026.

5. New Compact SUV (Vision S Concept-Based)

At the Freedom_NU event in Mumbai, Mahindra showcased several new concepts hinting at its future SUVs. The most notable is the Vision S concept inspired compact SUV which borrows design philosophy from the much-acclaimed Scorpio N.

Details:

  • Design: Bold, muscular styling with modern elements and SUV stance channeling the Scorpio’s ruggedness, but in a smaller footprint.
  • Market Position: Expected to slot below the XUV400, targeting urban buyers and first-time SUV customers looking for style and function.
  • Launch Timeline: Production version caught teasing and spotted testing several times, with a likely market debut scheduled for early 2026.

What This Means for Mahindra and Indian SUV Buyers

Mahindra’s upcoming SUV portfolio shows the brand’s commitment to catering to diverse customer needs—from hardcore off-roaders with the Thar facelift, family SUVs like the XUV700, to next-gen electric mobility with the XEV 7e and XUV 3XO EV. The arrival of a stylish new compact SUV further broadens the appeal, positioning Mahindra to aggressively compete in the booming SUV space within India.

With a mix of ICE refinement, electrification, and eye-catching design, these launches will shape the future SUV landscape in India, offering buyers more choice and advanced technologies.

Conclusion

Over the next year, Mahindra is set to refresh and expand its SUV lineup with innovative models that blend ruggedness, technology, and sustainability. TVS Ntorq 150 Teased for the First Time, Launch in September 2025

TVS has shown the first teaser of the Ntorq 150 scooter. It will launch in India next month. This new scooter will be bigger and more powerful than the current Ntorq 125. It will compete with scooters like the Yamaha Aerox 155, Hero Xoom 160, and Aprilia SXR 160.

🏍 From Ntorq 125 to Ntorq 150

The TVS Ntorq 125 has been in the market for over seven years. It is popular for its sporty look, features, and performance. TVS has made many versions of it, including special editions like the Spider-Man Edition.

Now, TVS is ready to launch a more powerful 150 cc version to attract buyers who want more speed and performance.

🔦 What the Teaser Shows

The teaser image shows:

  • A T-shaped light inside the headlamp
  • Four LED lights – two on each side
  • A sporty front design

This means the Ntorq 150 will look sharp and modern, but still similar to the Ntorq 125 in style.

Engine – What to Expect

Right now, TVS does not have a liquid-cooled engine below 300 cc. For the Ntorq 150, there are two possibilities:

  1. New 150 cc Liquid-Cooled Engine – more power and better performance, like the Yamaha Aerox 155.
  2. Air-Cooled 150 cc Engine – simpler and cheaper, but a bit less powerful, like the Aprilia SXR 160.

TVS could also use technology from its 160 cc motorcycles for this scooter.

📱 Features We Might Get

The Ntorq 150 is likely to have many modern features, such as:

  • Digital display with Bluetooth connection
  • Ride modes for different conditions
  • Full LED lights for headlamp, tail lamp, and indicators
  • Sporty design and graphics
  • Split seat for style and comfort
  • Large alloy wheels for better grip

🏆 Rivals in the Market

The Ntorq 150 will compete with:

  • Yamaha Aerox 155 – fast and powerful
  • Hero Xoom 160 – new and feature-rich
  • Aprilia SXR 160 – stylish and premium

📅 Launch and Festive Season

The TVS Ntorq 150 will be launched next month, just before the festive season. This is a good time for sales because many people buy new vehicles during festivals.

TVS is also planning to launch another new bike, the Apache RTX 300, around the same time.

Summary

The TVS Ntorq 150 will be a bigger, faster, and more feature-rich scooter than the Ntorq 125. If TVS prices it well, it could become a popular choice for people who want a stylish scooter with more power.
