Maruti Suzuki Launches Nexa & Arena Shield Programs to Boost Car Safety in India

Maruti Suzuki, India’s biggest carmaker, has launched two new safety programs – Nexa Safety Shield and Arena Safety Shield.
These programs make sure that cars from both Nexa and Arena showrooms have the same high safety features.

This also celebrates 10 years of Maruti’s premium Nexa showroom network.

What is the Nexa Safety Shield?

The Nexa Safety Shield comes with:

  • Six airbags (front, side, and curtain)
  • ABS with EBD (better braking control)
  • ESP with Hill Hold Assist (keeps car stable and stops it from rolling back on slopes)
  • ISOFIX child seat mounts
  • Reverse parking assist
  • Three-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats
  • Strong body design to pass crash and pedestrian safety tests

What is the Arena Safety Shield?

The Arena Safety Shield also gives:

  • Six airbags
  • ABS with EBD
  • ESP with Hill Hold Control
  • Reverse parking sensors
  • Three-point seatbelts with reminders
  • Same 3-year / 1,00,000 km warranty

Both programs give equal safety features, so no matter where you buy your car, you get the same protection.

Why Maruti is Doing This

Maruti says safety is very important for them.
In 2024-25, they made ESP standard in all models and gave six airbags in 14 models before it became a rule.

How Maruti Tests Its Cars

Maruti has a big R&D center in Rohtak that cost ₹3,800 crore.

  • They do 50+ crash tests for each model before launch
  • Around 30 are real crash tests with cars

Because of this:

  • The new Dzire became India’s first sedan with a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating
  • The Baleno got a 4-star Bharat NCAP rating

More Than Just Making Cars

Maruti also works on road safety programs that teach safe driving, check road safety rules, and help in emergencies.

It is the only car brand in India to offer six airbags and ESC as standard in so many cars — from small hatchbacks to big SUVs.

New Features for the Future

Maruti is also adding:

  • Side and curtain airbags in the front row
  • Heads-up display
  • 360-degree camera
  • Electronic parking brake with auto-hold
  • Tyre pressure monitoring system
  • Level 2 ADAS in the coming e Vitara electric SUV
  • Safer design for EV battery protection

Conclusion

With Nexa and Arena Safety Shield, Maruti Suzuki is making sure all customers get the same safety features — no matter which showroom or model they choose. This is a big step towards making cars in India safer for everyone.
