🚙 A Popular SUV Gets an Update
The Mahindra Thar has been very popular in India since it launched in 2020. Over the years, Mahindra added more versions like the cheaper 2WD Thar and the five-door Thar Roxx. Both have done well in the market.
Even now, people wait 4 to 6 months to get their Thar because of the high demand.
📅 Facelift Launch Soon
It has been almost five years since the current 3-door Thar was launched. Mahindra is now making an updated version of this SUV. Test models have already been seen on roads.
The new 3-door Thar facelift is expected to launch on September 1, 2025.
🎨 What’s New on the Outside
The updated Thar will have a look similar to the Thar Roxx. Changes include:
- New front bumper
- Updated fog lamp area
- Slightly different front grille
- C-shaped LED lights
- New alloy wheels
These small changes will give the Thar a fresher and more modern look.
🔧 Engines Stay the Same
There will be no change to the engines. The 3-door Thar will still have:
- 1.5L diesel engine
- 2.0L petrol engine
- 2.2L diesel engine
It will also keep the same strong ladder-frame base for off-road use.

Inside, the biggest update is a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen on the dashboard. Other changes:
- New design around the gear lever
- Wireless phone charging (expected)
- New steering wheel
- Power window buttons moved to the doors for easier use
