India’s EV Boom: Over 7 Lakh Electric Two-Wheelers Sold from Jan to July 2025

Electric two-wheelers are becoming more popular in India. From January to July 2025, over 7 lakh electric two-wheelers were sold across the country. This shows that more people are choosing electric scooters and bikes over petrol ones.

In just July 2025, more than 1 lakh electric two-wheelers were sold, making it the third month in a row to cross that number.

🥇 TVS Is the Top Seller in 2025

TVS Motor Company is now the number one electric two-wheeler brand in India.

  • Total sales (Jan–July 2025): 1,66,204 units
  • Growth compared to last year: 51% increase
  • July 2025 market share: 22%

TVS has been at the top of the sales chart since April 2025. The company is also planning to launch a new electric scooter, which could make it even more popular.

🥈 Bajaj Auto Takes Second Place

Bajaj Auto has also done very well in 2025.

  • Total sales (Jan–July 2025): 1,62,203 units
  • Growth compared to last year: 92% increase

Bajaj was the top-selling brand in February and March, but has been in second place since April. The Chetak electric scooter is one of its most popular models.

🥉 Ola Electric Falls to Third Spot

Ola Electric, which was the top brand last year, has dropped to third place.

  • Total sales (Jan–July 2025): 1,33,328 units
  • Compared to last year: 51% decrease
  • Market share dropped from 39% to 17%

Ola’s sales have gone down this year, while other brands have grown. This is the only major brand with a drop in sales.

📈 Ather and Hero Show Strong Growth

Ather Energy sold 98,014 electric scooters in the first 7 months of 2025. That’s 84% more than last year. In July, it sold 16,241 units, taking 16% market share.

Hero MotoCorp saw the biggest growth of all major brands:

  • Sales (Jan–July 2025): 43,891 units
  • Growth: 132% more than last year
  • July sales: 10,495 units

Hero is now becoming a strong player in the electric two-wheeler space.

🛵 Greaves and Others Are Growing Too

Greaves Electric Mobility sold 29,554 units in Jan–July 2025, which is a 62% increase. In July, it sold 4,197 units, with a 4% market share.

Other brands like River Mobility, Kinetic Green, Pur Energy, and Bgauss are also selling more electric scooters and slowly growing their market.
