Top 10 Car Brands H1 2025 — Maruti on Top, Mahindra Now 2nd
In the first half of 2025 (January to June), car sales in India went up a little. Total sales were 21.89 lakh cars, which is 1.3% more than last year. But some brands did really well, and some did not.
🥇 Maruti Suzuki — Number 1
- Sales: 8.78 lakh cars
- Change: 2% less than last year
- Maruti is still the top brand. But small cars did not sell as much.
🥈 Mahindra — Big Jump to 2nd Place
- Sales: 3.01 lakh cars
- Change: 20% more than last year
- Sold 50,000 more cars.
- New cars like Scorpio N, Thar Roxx, and XUV 3XO helped a lot.
🥉 Hyundai — Down to 3rd Place
- Sales: 2.85 lakh cars
- Change: 8% less than last year
🚗 Tata — Now 4th
- Sales: 2.69 lakh cars
- Change: 8% less than last year
✅ Toyota — Good Growth
- Sales: 1.61 lakh cars
- Change: 15% more than last year
✅ Kia — Up Too
- Sales: 1.42 lakh cars
- Change: 13% more
🚗 Škoda — Big Growth
- Sales: 36,000 cars
- Change: 134% more (more than double)
🚗 Honda — Went Down
- Sales: 32,000 cars
- Change: 13% less
🚗 MG — Grew
- Sales: 31,000 cars
- Change: 17% more
🚗 Volkswagen — Almost Same
- Sales: 18,000 cars
- Change: 3% less
❌ Others
- Renault: 31% less
- Nissan: 22% less
- Citroën: 27% less
- Jeep: 30% less
✅ Simple Summary
- Total car sales went up a little (1.3%).
- Maruti is still number 1.
- Mahindra is now number 2 because of strong sales.
- Toyota, Kia, Škoda, MG did well.
- Tata, Hyundai, Renault, Honda saw lower sales.
